Publication Ethics
EnVation: Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a peer-reviewed journal published by the LSPR Centre for Entrepreneurship (LSPR CFE), Faculty of Business, LSPR Institute of Communication and Business. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process of articles in this journal, including authors, editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential part of the development of a credible and respected body of knowledge. Published articles reflect the quality of the work conducted by authors and the institutions supporting them. As a project-based and implementation-oriented research journal, EnVation promotes ethical academic practices in the dissemination of entrepreneurship-based research, innovation implementation, and entrepreneurial project outcomes.
All parties involved in the publication process are expected to uphold ethical standards and maintain academic integrity throughout the editorial and publication process.
Duties of Publisher
LSPR Centre for Entrepreneurship (LSPR CFE), Faculty of Business, LSPR Institute of Communication and Business, as the publisher of EnVation, takes its responsibilities in overseeing all stages of publication seriously and is committed to maintaining ethical publishing practices.
The publisher ensures that editorial decisions are independent and not influenced by commercial interests, sponsorship, or other external factors. The publisher also supports communication between editors, reviewers, authors, and other parties whenever necessary to maintain publication integrity.
Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts are eligible for publication based on the journal’s scope, academic contribution, originality, clarity, and relevance to entrepreneurship and innovation studies.
Editorial decisions are based on the importance, validity, and quality of the manuscript, while also considering legal requirements related to plagiarism, copyright infringement, and ethical standards. Editors may consult with reviewers or editorial board members in making publication decisions.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely based on academic merit, intellectual content, originality, and relevance to the journal without discrimination regarding race, gender, religion, nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information regarding the manuscript to parties other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and publisher when appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors, reviewers, or editorial staff for personal research or advantage without the written consent of the author.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The peer-review process assists editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
Promptness
Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or are unable to complete the review process within the specified time should notify the editor promptly.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with unauthorized parties.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Reviewers should provide clear comments supported by academic arguments and avoid personal criticism toward authors.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the submitted manuscript and other published works.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use confidential information obtained through peer review for personal advantage and should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which conflicts of interest exist.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate, original, and objective accounts of the project-based research conducted. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to understand and replicate the study or project implementation process where applicable.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide supporting data related to the manuscript for editorial review and should retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is entirely original. Any use of the work, ideas, or words of others must be properly cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish substantially similar studies in multiple publications.
Acknowledgement of Sources
All relevant sources and references used in the manuscript must be properly acknowledged.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, implementation, analysis, or interpretation of the project-based research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of the manuscript. Sources of funding or project support must also be disclosed where relevant.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.
